(DC) Colleague J. Harrison Winter says he'd have avoided buying stock until case disposed of. Haynsworth's broker, Arthur McCall, bays purchase his idea, not Judge's. Judge said he wouldn't get in predicament again. [Senator Birch BAYH - talks of Judge's acting in something that had appearance of impropriety.] [Senator James EASTLAND - says sure of confirmation.]
