(Studio) Enemy forces used USSR built tanks to attack river defense line 22 mi. North of Hue. Assault stopped with heavy assistance from United States air strikes and naval bombardment. Outcome uncertain. 20 North Vietnam tanks destroyed.

(South Vietnam Battlefield) On North front, American planes hit suspected enemy positions almost hourly. Cobra gunships strafe area. While American air power keeps North Vietnam from positioning for attack on Hue, South Vietnam improve defenses. TOW anti-tank missile launchers used to strengthen lines. South Vietnam troops take offensive.
