(Studio) Although poland is in Soviet political sphere, there is difference in atmosphere and lifestyle between 2 countries.

(Warsaw, Poland) Large Palace of Culture, Soviet gift to Poland, dominates skyline, but its Stalinist style now an empty symbol. Polish effervescence makes Russia look dull by comparison. Pvt. enterprise flourishes in peasant's market; no collective agriculture here. People fiercely independent, blazingly patriotic. Govt. does control industry. Royal Palace being rebuilt; restoration of old town is labor of love.
