(Studio) In Paris, North Vietnam and Viet Cong respond characteristically rally to new United States Vietnam policy.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner
(Paris, France) Communist delegation in Paris take Nixon's decisions in stride. They say he has achieved most serious escalation of war so far; they will never accept his ultimatum. North Vietnam consider negotiation as way toward settlement. Viet Cong delegate Ly Vam Sau calls Nixon a criminal, barbarous, and immoral. [SAU - says Nixon can create sacrifices, difficulties, and death for North Vietnam, but will never subdue struggle for independence.]
