[MONKS - campaign against veteran senator] [MONKS - in TV ad speech, discusses employment issue.] (DC) Senator Smith remains in DC, except for weekend campaigning. [Senator SMITH - notes her volunteer staff.] Maine said reluctant to make changes. Smith victory anticipated. Senator Edmund Muskie setback here in presidential campaign noted.
