(Belfast, North Ireland) IRA (Irish Republican Army) campaign of violence continued unrelenting until cease-fire; explosion rocks Belfast. At midnight, incidents reported but by 3:00 a.m. cease-fire takes hold. [Jim O'KANE - hopes peace effort is successful.] Catholics fear Protestant backlash.
