(Studio) At United Nations United States Ambassador George Bush urges General Assembly action in cease-fire and troop withdrawal resolution.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(NYC) United States urges resolution which was vetoed in Security Council by USSR ; incls. return of refugees. [Indian Ambassador Samar SEN - says cease-fire could not be effective if not considering Mukti Bahini forces in Bangladesh.] Resolution to pass General Assembly but India, backed by USSR , will probably ignore appeal for peace, rendering United Nations helpless.
