(Studio) Murder indictments handed down in death of Memphis Negro youth, beaten by police in October, 1971, which resulted in riots.

(Memphis, Tennessee) Witnesses George Barnes and Calvin McKissick contradicted police story that Elton Hayes died in wreck, being chased by police. Coroner's report says death due to blows on head. 9 Memphis lawmen indicted; 4, include sheriff's department Lieutenant Theodore Wilks, a Negro, indicted on 1st degree murder charges.
