(Studio) In South Vietnam, enemy troops and tanks attack government troops in Quang Tri; fail to stop slow but steady advance by South Vietnam paratroopers on city's citadel.

(Quang Tri, South Vietnam) Battle for Quang Tri may drag on for weeks or mos. Casualties on both sides are high. City being destroyed by United States bombing and N. and South Vietnam artillery. South Vietnam President Nguyen Van Thieu orders United States air strikes halted to preserve the provincial capital, but South Vietnam Air Force continues to bomb at will.
