(Londonderry, North Ireland) British Army troops with armored cars occupy IRA strongholds under cover of night. [Catholic citizen says Catholics aren't beat yet.] Derry IRA (Irish Republican Army) provisional commander Martin McGinnis vowed to fight urban guerrilla campaign, but there was no resistance to British thrust.
