(Studio) Coalition of poor people's groups meets with Democratic Convention officials; demand adequate representative for poor on convention floor.

(Miami Beach, Florida) Led by SCLC's Reverend Ralph Abernathy and Welfare Rights Org.'s Dr. George Wiley, poor people's coalition enter Democrat headquarters quietly. Demand 750 seats on convention floor. Convention manager Richard Murphy explains there are no floor seats available, but offers 50 gallery seats. [ABERNATHY - says offer not acceptable.] [MURPHY - says neither he nor Democrat Chairperson O'Brien have authority to permit anyone to go to convention floor who is not duly elected delegate.] [WILEY - trouble will be made to make it clear poor must be included.] [MURPHY - notes this as first threat of trouble made at conv.]
