(Studio) United States army removing nerve gas from Okinawa, Ryukyu Island
REPORTER: Roger Mudd
(Okinawa) Many Okinawa residents along route used to move nerve gas to port leaving area; schools close early so bldgs. can be used for evacuation centers; film shows 1st gas being moved, protest demonstration night before. [Major General John HAYES - says nerve gas not destroyed; United States will continue to retaliate if attacked with gas.] Transfer of nerve gas to Johnston Island, Pacific Ocean, takes 55 days.
