(Studio) North Vietnam forces continue attacks on South Vietnam bases near DMZ; casualties reported.

(Saigon, South Vietnam) 35-yr.-old South Vietnam disabled war veteran commits suicide; sets self on fire in protest of President Nguyen Van Thieu's political maneuvers to keep Vice President Nguyen Cao Ky off president ballot. Forty disabled vets. have pledged to burn selves in protest of Thieu's actions; film shows Vice President Ky visiting vets.' headquarters; Thieu supporters admit suicide represents loss of face for Thieu.
