REPORTER: Walter Cronkite

(Bien Hoa, South Vietnam) Medical evacuation helicopters, painted white with bigger red crosses to identify them as mercy mission vehicles which carry no guns. [Captain Michael HERNDON - agrees with no-gun rule, as good Medevac crews can't be good gunmen at same time.] [Warrant Ofr., Ralph MCCALL - says enemy will shoot anyway, white paint makes `copters easier targets.] [Sp/5 Glen TORRES - conscientious objector, doesn't carry gun but feels more secure with one on `copter.]
