(Studio) Current North Vietnam offensive has proved costly to US.

(Pentagon) Since North Vietnam offensive began in March, 171 Americans killed, 37 captured, 105 MIA. B-52's based in Thailand and Guam carry bomb loads costing $14,000. Operating costs $1300 per hour Strike cost from Thailand costs $19,200 per plane. From Guam, cost is $30,900. 4000 missions with 3 planes each have been flown since March for minimum $230,400,000. 180 planes lost, costing $280 million. Carriers, men, mines, bomb transport add to figure.
