(Studio) John Lawrence, Washington Bureau chief Los Angeles "Times", has jail sentence lifted.

(DC) "Times" attorney Tim. Dyk reads Judge Sirica telegram from attys. of Alfred Baldwin III. Baldwin asks that tape of interview between himself and "Times" reporter be turned over to court [LAWRENCE - says reporters under attack in United States with regard to rights of free press. Jack Nelson, reporter who interviewed Baldwin, says tape adds little to what's been published. Tape may not affect Watergate trial, but affects newsmen's rights.
