(Studio) Food stores remain closed in Rome, Italy, in shopkeepers' revolt against government-ordered price freeze.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner
(Rome, Italy) Rome freezes prices on food stuffs which have risen 5-10% in 3 mos. Leftist federation organizes boycott by shopkeepers. Govt. stores pay no rent, have inferior produce, and sell at 10% less than private vendors. New law demands all prices match government market prices. Freeze applies only to retailers, not to wholesalers or producers. Govt. experiment not working.
