(Studio) Executive board of Communications Workers of American calls Nixon administration a rerun of Herbert Hoover, breaks with AFL-CIO President George Meany, endorses Senator McGovern.

(DC) [Communications workers president Joseph BEIRNE - says McGovern's point of view is closer to union's than is Nixon's.] [President aide Michael BALZANO - says endorsement by labor leaders doesn't mean much to the workers themselves.] Nixon hopes to win labor votes with his stands on busing, aid to Catholic education, amnesty, law and order, and abortion.
