(Studio) Peace Corps volunteers still active in developing areas across globe.
REPORTER: Howard K. Smith
(Ivory Coast, West Africa) Madame Toni, at age 72, became a peace corps volunteer, teaching English to natives for $200 a month Plus lodging. [Mrs. Toni MAXWELL - cites excitement of achieving after retirement as her motivation.] 21-yr.-old black, Sammy Shepard, from Jacksonville, Florida, runs school gardens program. Peace Corps expresses anxiety that American people have lost interest and faith in program.
