(Studio) Pentagon reports mining of North Vietnam ports has so far been 100% effective: no mines exploded or removed. Some of 25 merchant ships bound for North Vietnam have altered course. Chinese ports may be used. Some 7th fleet warships move south to Quang Tri city, captured South Vietnam provincial capital. 2 Russian gunships sail south between Japan and Korea.
