(Studio) Alabama Governor George Wallace's doctor reports less than 50-50 chance Wallace will ever walk again. Wallace reads news accounts of his MD, Michigan primary victories, improves from attempt to kill him.

(Silver Spring, MD) [Neurosurgeon, Dr. James GALBRAITH - says x-rays show bullet is in spinal canal. Says studies by Doctors Perez, Arnold, show free passage of spinal fluid. Operation for removal of bullet will reveal more about damage to nerves.] Family member says Wallace continues to campaign from bed. Campaign Mgr., Charles Snider, returns to Montgomery, Alabama, to begin next phase of campaign. REPORTER: David Dick
