(Studio) President Nixon moves 11,000-man United States Marine air unit from Philippines to Bien Hoa AFB, South Vietnam. In San Diego, California, United States aircraft carrier Ticonderoga sails for Vietnam.

(San Diego, California) Ticonderoga had been scheduled for short training cruises off California Coast. Last week, all leaves canceled. She sails today, prepared for anti-submarine warfare in Tonkin Gulf. Ticonderoga carries 60 propeller aircraft which seek and destroy submarines. [Ship's captain, over loudspeaker, says ship will return when job completed.] No official destination given.
