(Studio) Senator Armed Services Committee considers case of Air Force General John Lavelle, who ordered unauthorized air strikes against North Vietnam.

(Pentagon) [sergeant Lonnie FRANKS - says as Air Force pilot in Vietnam, he was ordered to file false reports; wrote Senator Harold Hughes. Letter led to Lavelle's forced retirement. Says false decisions could have been made due to false reports Says reports of My Lai prompted him to write letter while corrective action could still be taken, instead of 2 years later.] Lavelle's pension, listing him 70% disabled, questioned as he was flying prior to retirement.
