(Studio) Secretary Defense James Schlesinger cuts back troops on military alert.

(DC) Schlesinger describes extent of military alert now. [SCHLESINGER - states United States watches USSR closely before military alert to be completely repealed. Believes United States can still react firmly to international crisis despite problems on domestic front.] Schlesinger reports airlifts to Middle E. by both United States and USSR resume.
