(Studio) CIA ofr. testifies in Pentagon Papers trial.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(Los Angeles, California) Prosecution trying to prove Pentagon Papers release by Daniel Ellsberg and Anthony Russo could have damaged national security. Defense calls CIA researcher Sam. Adams who counters this argument and says Pentagon lied in Papers about progress of Vietnam war by order of Gens. William Westmoreland and Earl Wheeler. Prosecutor David Nissen objects and Adams testimony cut off.
