(Studio) Nixon angry over Senator Charles Percy resolution calling on him to appoint independent agent to investigate Watergate. White House says Elliot Richardson free to name independent investigator to case if he so desires. Egil Krogh, former assistant to John Ehrlichman, takes abrupt leave of absence from Department Trans. Krogh had White House job of plugging news leaks after Pentagon Papers released. For this he hired Gordon Liddy and Howard Hunt. Hunt and Liddy accused of 1971 burglary Dan Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office.
