(Studio) Peace Corps workers held in Uganda are released. Held while on way to Zaire by Uganda President Idi Amin.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd
(DC) State Department probing incident behind Peace Corps workers' detention. President Amin sent insulting telegram to Nixon July 4 about Watergate, and rebuke was sent back by US. Then Amin detained plane and workers saying Americans might be mercenaries. Zaire's President finally convinced Amin to release captives. United States may break diplomatic relations with Uganda.
