(Studio) President' lawyers go before Judge John Sirica in Washington, DC to show cause for refusal to give White House tapes to special Watergate prosecutor Archibald Cox.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd

(DC) President' lawyer Fred. Buzhardt turns over briefs to Judge Sirica. Buzhardt concludes President has power to withhold tapes if President believes public interest wouldn't be served. Cox to have formal reply Monday Outside Cox and Buzhardt refuse comment. Senate Watergate committee expected to file for declaration judgement on subpoenaed White House tapes.
