(Studio) Federal Reserve Bd. chairperson Arthur Burns appears before House Banking Committee Raises prospect of tax increase to slow inflation.

(DC) [BURNS - states in meeting with President, Nixon showed sympathy to Burns' suggested tax measures.] Burns questioned on possible income tax increase [BURNS - says quickly reversible tax increase to get his favor. Permanent income tax increase wouldn't get his support.] Exs. of flexible taxes suitable for tax increase or decrease reviewed.
