(White House) Inflation, Wholesale Price Index figures, employment statistics noted. Nixon concerned. Senator Hugh Scott, Republican Gerald Ford speak to press; Ford predicts price control end. [FORD - projects thoughts with regard to controls' end.] Nixon meets with George Shultz, Roy Ash, Herbert Stein. Arthur Burns absent. Nixon admits ignorance of agriculture, especially soybeans.
