(Studio) Defense attys. explore ways to get Nixon's testimony without his DC appearance.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite

(DC) John Ehrlichman's attys. propose taking Nixon's testimony on videotape from California. Judge John Sirica vetoes idea, ptly. because no judge would be there to rule on objections. 1 proposal is to move trial to California to get Nixon testimony. Another plan is to take testimony via closed circuit TV. Would cost $50,000 for 3 days. Defense attys. try to trip up Jeb Stuart Magruder's testimony.
