(Studio) Senator Hubert Humphrey's donation of political papers to archive also under scrutiny by IRS.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd

(Waverly, Minnesota) Humphrey donated papers to Minnesota Historical Society. IRS (Internal Revenue Service) may not allow enormous deductions taken by Humphrey because stipulation prevents anyone seeing papers without Humphrey's permission. [Minnesota society Lucile KANE - says Humphrey maintains control 25 years after 1966.] Senator Humphrey wouldn't allow CBS to see contract or deed of gift. [HUMPHREY - says he's prepared to turn over money to IRS (Internal Revenue Service) if deductions ruled unlawful.]
