(Studio) Govt.'s index of economy indicators down 1.2% in August Some officials believe wage, price controls to be reinstituted in effort to calm inflation.

(NYC) [On August 28, `74, FORD - says he wouldn't ask for wage, price controls.] Business world skeptical with regard to Ford's promises. [Econ. consultant Pierre RINFRET - thinks business raising prices as much and as fast as they can.] [Princeton economy Prof. Albert REES - thinks advising businesses to increase prices generally borders on irresponsibility.]
