(Studio) Army has dealt with returned deserters with modified leniency.

(Fort Campbell, Kentucky) Deserters processed here. Men considered low risk; not security. Must stay about 4 weeks and face dishonorable discharge, with loss of vet's pay and difficulty in getting job. 1823 deserters processed here since 1974. [Deserter Willy Dell KEITH - says been here 17 days. President' plan not lenient.] Mil. cnslrs. and Canada deserters hopeful Ford will realize 18 mos. alternate service not lenient.
