(Studio) Labor Department reports 5.4% unemployment for August Black unemployment was 9.2%.

(Chicago, Illinois) Unemployment office shown. [Unemployed Maurice DANIELS - cites trying to get job.] Daniels is Vietnam vet, with family. [DANIELS - says has taken things to insure family's survival.] 1/2 unemployed in city black. [Unemployed 8 mos. Reginald PORTER - says wants skilled job but can't find one.] [Unemployed 1 month Clifford BAKER - cites job experience and qualifications.] [Unemployed 7 mos. Danny ALEXANDER - says robbing somebody only choice left.] Unemployment creates more crime.
