(Studio) High cost of imported oil main reason for energy crisis. Report of Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's efforts.

(DC) Kissinger sent letters to 7 top oil-producing ntns. with regard to American-French agreement to arrange conference of conciliation between oil producers and consumers. Letters to: Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, Algeria, Indonesia, Nigeria and Venezuela. No mention of Kissinger's statement in letters re: possible American military force. Letters should ease concern of United States use of force to break oil cartel.
