(Studio) Kansas City, Kansas, firemen agree to stop work slowdown. Firemen on strike in Kansas City, Missouri.

(Kansas City, Missouri) National Guard and police take over for striking firemen. Unoccupied house burns down. Pickets set up. Issue is 17 1/2% difference between firemen and police salaries. [Striking fireman Armand ESTEVEZ - says deserve as much money as policemen.] [Striking fireman Weldon POARCH - says buy my groceries at same store as everybody.] [Mayor Chas. WHEELER JR. - says public proper in demanding protection.] Union mbrs. say they'll picket until firm offer made.
