(Studio) Commerce Secretary Rogers Morton refuses to supply Congress subcommittee with requested information Cited for contempt of Congress
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite

(DC) Morton says he can't supply list of American firms that were asked to join in Arab boycott of Israel. [Chairperson Commerce subcommittee Representative John MOSS - asks Morton for documents.] [MORTON - says he doesn't have them.] [MOSS - asks why not.] [MORTON - says doesn't believe he was required to bring them.] Committee votes 10-5 along party lines to hold Morton in contempt. If House finds him in contempt, case could go to court or Morton could be jailed.
