(NYC) Sarah Caldwell conducts New York Philharmonic Orchestra. To conduct Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center She used to be in Boston opera company and with Opera New England in ME. Shown conducting. [CALDWELL - says opera doesn't exist unless it's combination of music and theatrics.] [Conductor Buffalo Philharmonic Michael Tilson THOMAS - says Caldwell has had original and important ideas with regard to music. That aspect makes her what she is, not that she is woman.]
