(Studio) Transportation Secretary William Coleman says Concorde supersonic transport is twice as loud as conventional jets; causes 5 times as much vibrations, and alters atmosphere enough to cause health hazards.

(New York) State representatives will decide if Concorde can operate at Kennedy Airport. France and Great Britain spent 10 years and $2 billion indvting. Concorde. Jet can fly from London to New York City in 3-1/2 hrs.

(DC) [Assistant Secretary of State Thomas ENDERS - says France and Britain could say United States discriminating against foreign SST. Would have major impact on United States relations with 2 cntrys.] supersonic transport flights could damage ozone layer and cause more skin cancer cases. [Dep. Transportation Secretary John BARNUM - says this department, Federal Aviation Administration and CAB's job is to further air transportation.] Environmentalists think Concorde will be shut out of United States. Attorney William Ruckelshaus representatives Great Britain. France has Charles Goodell working for them. Air France employs the law firm headed by ex-Secretary of State William P. Rogers; British Airways retains Washington, DC law firm of Covington and Burling.
