(Studio) Senate Intelligence Committee to hold hearings on CIA in Chile.

(DC) Ford administration bans all government representatives from testifying in committee 's public hearing on covert operations in Chile. Hearings aimed to show how in 1970, President Richard Nixon, CIA Director Richard Helms and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger tried to instigate coup in Chile, bypassing State and Defense Depts. CIA Director William Colby says he and other CIA representatives, past or present, won't testify. Kissinger says neither he nor State Department will testify. Senator Frank Church says staff will provide report on Chile.
