(Studio) Cuban Communist party ends its 1st congress Premier Fidel Castro promises continued support of Soviet-backed troops in Angola, even if United States-Cuban relations won't ever be restored.

(Havana, Cuba) Castro reelected 1st secretary of Cuban Communist party 3300 delegates clap and cheer for 6 minutes. Plans made for 1st elections under Castro with the Communist party as only party on ballot. Castro pledges continued support of Popular Movement for Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and of Puerto Rican independence. Rally held in Plaza of the Revolution to close congress Soviet-Cuban relations close; United States-Cuban relations cold.
