(Studio) President Ford returns from trip abroad. House sends Senator bill with tax cuts.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite

(DC) Ford meets with top economy advisers with regard to bill and what happens after he vetoes it. Treasury Secretary William Simon told to tell Senator Finance Committee that Ford will veto any tax cut bill without federal spending cut. Press Secretary Ronald Nessen says Ford stands by original proposal of permanent $28 billion tax cut plus cut in federal spending. Says Ford may keep Congress over or call them back early if tax bill problem not settled by January 1. Ford also must decide if he'll sign energy bill. Rptd. he will sign.
