(Studio) January unemployment report expected to show 7 1/2 million unemployed. Expansion of public service jobs underway.

(DC) During 1930's depression, millions per year found jobs through public works projects. Film and photos of those jobs shown. Jobs now varied. Senators will introduction legislature for creating 1 million long-term public service jobs. To cost $8.7 billion. [Senator Jacob JAVITS - says objections of waste, bureaucracy, and pols. must give way.] [Senator Harrison WILLIAMS - recalls Herbert Hoover's lament at doing too little, too late.] Bill expected to pass in 2 mos.
