(Studio) Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's peace efforts seem to have bogged down.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd

(Egypt) Kissinger and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat unable to hit on any new development or breakthrough. Sadat supposedly expected Israel to soften demands for nonbelligerency, but Israel insists. [KISSINGER - says gap narrowed but not closed between Egypt and Israel.] [SADAT - says this round of talks hard and complicated. ]

(Jerusalem, Israel) Despite Kissinger's nonstop efforts, negotiations could collapse. Tomorrow, Kissinger flies to Saudi Arabia to meet with King Faisal.
