(Studio) Mayaguez seizure similar to Pueblo capture 7 years ago.
REPORTER: Bob Schieffer

(San Diego, California) 82 Pueblo crewmen spent 11 mos. in captivity following N. Korean capture of ship in 1968. Film shown. Pueblo skipper Lloyd Bucher reacts to freeing to Mayaguez. [BUCHER - says he was delighted upon learning of safe rescue for Mayaguez and crew. Believes bulk of nation proud of country and people responsible for rescue operation.] Bucher speculates on outcome of Pueblo incident if Marines had been sent in. [BUCHER - doubts Mayaguez incident would have ever occurred if Marines had rescued Pueblo.]
