(Studio) Price controls on 60% domestic oil production expire at end August

(DC) Admin. representatives argue before joint congress economy committee for phasing out controls to encourage production. Federal Energy Admin. chief Frank Zarb says controls will make prices higher in long run. [Senator William PROXMIRE - says higher oil and gas prices to aggravate recession. Timing wrong.] [ZARB - says there'll never be right time.] [PROXMIRE - says this is worst time.] Compromise Elusive.
