(Studio) National Airlines flight 1601 was routine until grisly object found.

(Jacksonville, Florida) College student, Anthony Townsend, burns self to death in plane's restroom. Stewardess opens restroom door; some passengers thought back section on fire. [Passenger Anthony PIERRO - describes stewardess opening door and seeing man in room.] [Passenger Salvatore MISTRETTA - says heard talk of fire.] National Transportation Safety Bd. says no danger of explosion. Stewardesses put out fire.
