(Studio) Pro-Communist Army ofr. fired as head of government propaganda. Calls continue for resignation of Premier Vasco Goncalves.

(Portugal) Film shows April 19, 1974, revolution. Army was the hero. Div. in county reached because Communists reached for too much too fast. October 1974 film shows Communist-org. crowd. Goncalves main rival is mbr. junta, General Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho, who sees self as another Castro. Communists& leftists force recognition of only 1 labor federation, dominated by Communists Media not controlled by Communists muzzled. No rightist ptys. allowed to take part in April 1975 election. Moderates won 2/3 votes. Communists disregard votes. Socialist party leader Mario Soares advocates Scandanavian or British socialism. He withdrew from government coalition. Moderates begin holding large rallies; many officers sign petition calling for halt of rush to Communism Regime may have to back down or face uprising.
