(Studio) Firemen and police agree to new contracts, but board of supervisors rejects settlement.

(San Francisco, California) [Mayor Joseph ALIOTO - says settlement reached.] 3 maj. fires before dawn; firemen helped. Vandalism reported 2000 striking police and firemen vote to accept pay raise package Some of board of supervisors mad because Alioto didn't consult them. [City supervisor John MOLINARI - proposes offer be rejected.] Supervisors vote 9-0 to turn settlement down. Bd. turned down 13% wage increases, effective October 15. Picketing and strikes continue
